Harmonic Interval
A tall shouldered vase banded at its widest point with a chevron course in black, cream, red and gold.
Dark, open-grained hardwood caps the vessel at the rim and again at the foot, with fine copper-toned lines drawn between the two. Held between them is a broad course of pale maple that lifts the centre of the form.
The motif in that band is built entirely from squared steps, the way a weaving would be, with a gold centre and a single red block at its heart. It repeats around the vessel so there is no front and no back.
